IPDs Kwali 2010

Immunization Plus Days (IPDs) are special days set apart with a view to reaching every child with two potent drops of OPV, in compliance with the Global Polio Eradication Initiative. However, other child survival interventions are added like deworming and Vitamin A supplementation. Incentives are also given to each eligible child (0-59 months) vaccinated, as a motivation to other mothers to access the health interventions. This activity greatly improved the national routine immunization coverage, while reducing the number of un-immunized and zero-dose children.

WHO DAY 2010

The theme chosen for World Health Day 2010 was "Urbanization and Health," highlighting the profound impact of urbanization on both global and individual health. Rather than a single-day event, World Health Day 2010 marked the beginning of an ongoing annual campaign addressing the specific health needs and priorities of cities. To effectively address local challenges, collaboration among communities, government bodies, non-governmental organizations, and all relevant partners is crucial in identifying gaps and implementing solutions.
